Founder, GFK Consulting | Community-first strategist | Proud Queer Chorus co-founder | Southwest Michigan advocate
I’m someone who believes that business can—and should—be a force for good. That belief started early, growing up in South Haven, Michigan, where I learned that real impact happens when people show up for one another, again and again.
Now, I live and work in Kalamazoo, a city I’ve grown to love for its grit, heart, and unapologetic commitment to progress. Here, I co-founded the Queer Chorus of Kalamazoo—a space built to center queer joy, creativity, and visibility. It’s more than a choir—it’s a community. It’s also one more way I’ve committed myself to being about the kind of change I want to see.
That same mindset is what drives my work through GFK Consulting.
GFK: Strategy Rooted in Service
When I started GFK Consulting, it wasn’t just about branding or marketing—it was about building tools that help local businesses and nonprofits show up for their communities in powerful ways. Everything we do starts with a question:
“How can we support your mission and make it resonate louder?”
You’ll see it in our motto:
Grow Local. Deepen Community. Build Lasting Impact.
We work with farmers, family-owned cafés, collectives, coalitions, and entrepreneurs—people with real dreams and real values. Our job is to build strategies that amplify their purpose and turn it into growth that sticks.
Why Cause Marketing Matters to Me
Cause marketing isn’t a trend. For me, it’s a deeply personal philosophy—one that sits at the intersection of who I am, where I’m from, and what I stand for.
I’ve seen how transformational it is when brands speak up, show up, and give back. That might look like:
- A business supporting queer and trans youth programs during Pride season—and beyond
- A neighborhood market running a fresh food match for food-insecure families
- A taproom inviting local nonprofits to co-host fundraisers and community nights
Cause marketing isn’t just good ethics—it’s good business. When people believe in why you exist, they show up for what you do.
My Story = My Strategy
On my personal LinkedIn, you’ll see my titles: founder, strategist, problem solver. But what’s harder to capture is the why behind it all:
I’m here because I care about people.
I’m here because I believe strategy can be generous.
And I’m here because I know that when we align our values with our voice, we create movements—not just marketing plans.
That’s the approach I take with every client we serve at GFK.
For Southwest Michigan and Beyond
I love where I’m from. South Haven gave me my roots. Kalamazoo gives me my purpose. I’m proud to build alongside other changemakers, organizers, creatives, and business owners who want to leave their communities better than they found them.
When we lead with care, we create spaces that welcome everyone.
When we market with purpose, we attract the people who believe what we believe.
When we make space for advocacy, identity, and community, everyone wins.
Let’s Make the Work Matter
Whether you’re a business trying to grow with heart, a nonprofit navigating strategy, or a founder with a big idea and a lot of soul—GFK Consulting is here to help you find your voice, sharpen your strategy, and build what matters.
Because marketing shouldn’t just sell.
It should serve.
And strategy should always, always be rooted in community care.
Let’s build something brave, local, and lasting—together.
